Texas Dance Improvisation Festival: Co-Curator and Festival Host/Producer
Texas Dance Improvisation Festival celebrates improvisational dance in Texas and beyond, coming together as dance and music artists to share, inspire and challenge our improvising arts community. TDIF has grown to attract national and international attention with a wide array of over 200 participants each year. TDIF features classes, jam sessions, panel discussions, and performances all focused on contemporary improvisational dance practices with some of the leading international practitioners of the form.
Now in its eighth year the festival has featured guest artists, such as Lisa Nelson, Darrell Jones, K.J. Holmes, Kirstie Simson, Ray Chung, Meg Wolfe, Andrew Wass, Nina Martin, and Amii LeGendre and been sponsored by Texas Woman’s University, Texas Christian University, Rice University, Texas State University, North West Vista College, and Sam Houston State University.
The TDIF Coordinating Committee is comprised of: Diane Cahill Bedford, Jordan Fuchs, Sarah Gamblin, Whitney Geldon, Nina Martin, Westin Portillo, Erin Reck, Lily Sloan, and John Stronks.
